Many Things To Talk About

I would say I have had another eventful weekend. Saturday I got to hang out with Alex, Traci, and their nephew, Emmanuel watching Monty Python and the latest Gregory Brothers video.

The Song.

Of Coarse The Original

And from Talladega Night's where Will Ferrall plays George Bush.

Haha, good stuff."Tom Brokaw's a punk!" I love Talladega Night's. I remember when I was living up in Desert Hot Springs with my Dad in the summer of 2006, and we were doing estimates for his business Earl's Lath and Plastering in Yucca Valley. We would more than occasionally stop off at this local movie theatre. There we saw Talladega. I also remember seeing parts of that 9/11 film with Nick Cage. And The Devils Wear's Prada. Which was a good film I thought.

One of Alex's favourte sketches we watched on Saturday.

It was really nice to see Emmanuel laughing at Monty Python; a show both Alex and I come to love. Some of the younger generation wouldn't find it funny.

This Sunday. I got to see my friend, Rhiis and his band, Ana Kefr, play at The Navajo Second Wind. Also Squirelly Arts played, which I was sad to only catch just one song. I would of loved to see them play their whole set. But foolishly I thought they were playing at Second Wind Santee. I didn't read the poster on Facebook. I just assumed. It was fun to see everybody at the show. All the bands did a great job. It was awesome to AK again. Last time I saw them was on Sunset Blvd at The Key Club in 2009. When I went up with Josh and Tab. Also, it was nice to hang out with Sharyn, Sam, Nox, Tori, Miranda, Rhiis, Mandy, Brad, Mario, and MoJo.

Ana Kefr.

Then next day I had lunch with good company, Sharyn. And we went and got Home Town Buffet. They really changed their appearance inside. They made it look like Barona Casino's buffet. The booths look fancier. They offered Olive Oil, Vinegar, and they have a whole stand where you can choose from. Also, they had all the food sectioned off from Italian, Asian, American, and they had their hot warmers in the middle with fried fish; and of coarse the salad bar. . . why do I rant about Home Town Buffet??? I don't know.

...And now for something completely different. . .

My friend Don came to visit me at work. I haven't see Don since 2009. We talked about life and art I went over to his apartment and watched "The Whitest Kid's you know" with his girlfriend Marina. :)

Trailer hunting! My step Dad and my Mom sold their motorhome recently. Therefore, putting me into the joining living room. Vacationing on a air mattress that lacks in storing air. I have been looking up trailers or cheap motorhomes so I can get my privacy again. lol. Yesterday, I drove with my step Dad, Doug. Out to Lakeside, and this guy was selling this trailer for 1500 . I must say looks are deceiving on Craigslist. But then again. It's craigslist. Well, we show up and the trailer is in bad condition, and is 20 feet. Not paying that much for something beat up and that small, So we politely apologize for wasting their time and leave. The other day my Mom and Doug, went out to check out a trailer for 1495; and waited 2 hours for this guy to show up and show them the trailer. He shows up and they come to find out it was gutted out inside. And the add said it had 2 television sets and was ready to go. What a waste of time. Moral of the story??? Craigslist does not filter out sketchy people.

Yesterday, I went hiking up Colwes Mountain with Harry again. It had been a good week since I haven't been up there. I quite frankly have been sitting on my ass glued to my computer. Lol. I will hit the gym today before work. I need to get back into the groove of things.

Here are some promo pics for The Bunk Show:

Hope you found humour in them.....

Poet's Corner

This Wednesday is The Egyptian Tea Room's first Poet's Corner. Should be fun. Going to Mcee the first time around. It's also my good friend Alex's birthday. Happy Birthday Alex!

Boogity Boogity, Cheers,
Brandon

  1. Lovely, lovely! I'm so excited for your reading, I hope it goes well. I would love to be there, but I need to find somebody with a teleporter or jet pack first with all my pesky living in a city far away thing going on.

Python is like classic literature in that it should be taught in schools.

The shows you went to sound awesome. It's always a pleasure to see new bands. Going to the Casbah when I was down there reminded me that I need to get out more and experiment musically. I've always been hesitant to spend money on shows (because things were always so tight) of bands I didn't know. I need to break out of my comfort zone that way.

And if you think looking for a trailer on Craigslist is unsettling, try using it for dating **shudders**

  2. Actually I've just been perusing CL for an apartment. It sucks what people try to get away with, like listing an address down on International Blvd. (scummy) as "Oakland Hills, Mills College" (good). Or listing and address that is obviously downtown Oakland as "Rockridge" (swanky). Don't even get me started on the fact that you can no longer get an apartment in the city of San Francisco for less than $1000! Ok. I have to stop before I start rage spiraling.
